RIPPLES
Group Art Exhibition
at Wetterling Teo Gallery

featuring Heiko & Selina Niedermeyer + Natacha Arena + James Robertson + Thierry B. + Laurent Filippini

15 June to 14 August 2004

As tiny gentle waves spreading across the surface, each ripple blossoms into a succession of undulating patterns, uniquely defined by its strength and momentum. The sinuous movements rise and fall, far-reaching in the vastness of space, driven by a gentle yet latently powerful force to push the surrounding frontiers to greater distance.

Like the chromatics of the ripples, the art in this showcase is as eclectic as the component colours encircling one another. Each ripple manifests the wonderment of each artist's creation, with the enchanting hues bringing out the beauty in these works.

On its own, each ripple makes its presence felt with a seemingly-silent strength.

When there is togetherness, the rippling effect of all leads to an unknown intensity, impacting a current of awe-inspiring waves.

Wetterling Teo Gallery is the first international contemporary art gallery in South-East Asia. It represents top American artists like Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein, James Rosenquist, Robert Rauschenberg, Frank Stella; and pioneers of the POP generation such as British artists David Hockney, Allen Jones and Richard Hamilton.

The gallery has worked with these very established artists for more than ten years and, as a result, has formed close friendships with them, enabling it to bring their newest and best work to this region as well as to its gallery in Sweden.

The gallery is also very involved with the local art scene, and currently represents some young Asian artists of immense potential. It is Wetterling Teo's policy to nurture and expose young talent so that the Singapore art scene may flourish.
